Iron Maiden: live in Cluj-Napoca, the heart of Transylvania!

The legendary British group IRON MAIDEN will be performing this summer for the first time in the heart of Transylvania! The show will take place on August 15th, in the parking of the Polus Center Mall in Cluj Napoca, an event presented by the CFR Cluj football club and organized by Imagistica and Iconica.  IRON MAIDEN bass player and founder member Steve Harris comments „We last came to Romania in 2008 during our Somewhere Back In Time Tour and received such a fantastic welcome from the fans in Bucharest, that we really wanted to come back again soon. Transylvania has such an interesting history – and of course, as our fans all know,many years ago we even named one of the tracks on our first album after it! So we’re really looking forward to the experience of finally getting to play here„

IRON MAIDEN is returning this summer to the Romanian audience as part of their new world tour “The Final Frontier”. The tour precedes the release of the album. “The Final Frontier”, the fifteenth studio album of the band and the first studio release after four years. “The Final Frontier” is one of the most anticipated moments in Iron Maiden’s thirty years career, and will be released later this year to coincide with the first leg of the Tour which begins in June in North America, followed by select appearances at major European festivals, such as Wacken in Germany and Sziget in Hungary plus some stadium shows, with the band planning to continue to many other countries in 2011.

Iron Maiden have an impressive career, made up of 30 years of activity, which has seen them develop into one of the UK’s greatest live acts of all time, packing out arenas and stadiums worldwide with their spectacular stage shows and uncompromising musicianship. To date they have sold  over 80 million records, picking up countless awards and accolades along the way including most recently the prestigious Brit Award for Best British Live Act 2009 and a Juno in Canada last month for DVD of the year “Flight 666”, a documentary made during the 2008 leg of the World Tour “Somewhere Back In Time”.

The heavy-metal legends will be coming this summer to Cluj Napoca, on the 15th of August, with tickets being be available starting May 24th , 12:00, on www.servuscluj.ro.

It is for the first time that a band of such importance arrives in Cluj-Napoca – Iron Maiden being the biggest act to perform ever in Transylvania!  and as the first of a long line of bands which will be present in the years to come, with their amazing live show IRON MAIDEN will certainly be a hard act to follow!
